Terms you need to know before you read this:
Niche: A niche is a specific area of a market, kind of like a specific genre for your business. In example, Petsmart’s niche is pet care.

The common question asked from most people is “Where do I start, What should I sell, How did you do it”?
So, I have come up with a few simple tips to help anyone new to the entrepreneur world. This post is part 1 of 4 so if you have questions feel free to ask, but they may be answered in a later post. This article is just to get your feet wet.

Step #1) Write down all of the things you are passionate about (Make sure that each choice isn’t too vague, because it will make the future steps easier). A list of 10 to 20 things should give you a healthy choice of what you can succeed in. Make sure that you are knowledgable in each choice; otherwise,
you will be spending too much time trying to learn it.

Step #2) Research.
After writing down 10-20 choices, researching each one will help you narrow it down to just a few choices. What I mean by “researching” is Googling each
choice and seeing if people are making money in it. One way to tell is by looking at the Google Ads (The little ads on the right hand side of the search results page).
Are there any? Is there too many? These are some questions you may want to look at when deciding. Also, check to see how many results come up in the search. You want it to be known, but not too known.
You want atleast 500,000 search results to come up for your choice, but no more than a couple million. For instance, you may not want to use
a niche such as “Dogs”, because your competition will be very high compared to other niches. If your passion is dogs, then you may want to make it more
specific like dog grooming. That way you can do what you are passionate about, and still make money. *Keep in mind this step is important for any type of business whether it is offline and/or online.*

Step #3) Picking your niche.
Now that you have narrowed your choices down to just a few niches, it is time to pick one. Some questions to ask yourself when choosing are: “Are you happy with this choice, could you see yourself making money doing this, and are you passionate enough to do it?” If your answer is no to any of these questions, you may want to reconsider. Note: Make sure to think in the minds of the consumers. Will they buy this?

Step #4) The last tip for “Finding Your Niche” is to think of a way to seperate yourself from all of the rest of the people in the same niche. That way your not just another person trying to sell the same thing the same way everyone else has been doing it. This is the step that most people miss in the
beginning, and don’t learn until their second or third failed business. Make sure your business will be different from all the rest in the niche you have just chosen.

Remember these steps are just the basics, but without a complete understanding of these, success can be harder to achieve. So, even if these steps seem obvious, be sure to read over everything just in case.  As for all of the new people to the world of business, I will go into more detail for each one of these steps in future posts.
